A Few Pictures Of Work I've Done In The Wetumpka Area.

* Please note: Some of this work that I've done I'm not able to do anymore as I've sold my larger excavator, my 1-ton flatbed truck and my dump trailer. All I have left is a 1500 Silverado truck, a carhauler and my Kubota U17. I can remove bushes and small trees with my U17, but I can't take down larger trees or dig up large stumps.

Pushed down 5 trees and removed 2 stumps.

Put the U17 to work digging out this septic tank for servicing. Quite a bit of dirt to be doing by hand. There was some shovel and back work involved as the home is positioned over parts of the septic tank. It started to rain just as I finished putting the dirt back over it, then freezing temps and snow came in so I wasn't able to rake the dirt out and make it look as nice as I'd like to have done.

My new root ripper made quick work of these two stumps. These were large stumps, but I would prefer to stay with stumps that were from small to medium sized trees. Grinding stumps is fine but they will rot over time and the ground will sink. You'll have to add dirt over time to fill the depression.

Just unloaded excavator at the job site. Going to build up a low area along driveway and fill in a couple sunken areas where stumps have rotted down.





These holes will need to be filled in with large & small rock since the ground water is high here, then topped of with dirt.
Adding 9 yards of 3"-6" rip rap rock.


Stump holes filled with rock and spread out nicely.


Now adding clay gravel.


Spreading and tracking in the clay with the excavator.


Letting it dry out for a few days before adding more clay.

A quick job of cleaning up a small section of property. There was a deep gully on the other side of the fence so I was able to put the brush in it. Quick job, took about 2 hours including unloading and loading mini-excavator.

A storm came through and this customer had a 16" oak tree blown down. I cut it up and stacked it on his property to burn (he's in a rural area) and then I repaired the stump area.

Building up a low area to match the height of the driveway. Customer is going to put grass seed and straw down.


Filling in an area where a stump had rotted down and caused the ground to sink about a foot deep and four feet across.

Narrow water trench that was deep in spots that held water.


Wider now and the depth is consistent, looks much nicer.

Will remove and/or cut weeds and spread rock to control water erosion.

Fallen tree and brush cleared. There was a deep ravine at the back of this property so everything I cleaned up was pushed into it. While I have the means to haul debris off I don't have any place to haul it off to, so there has to be a place onsite for me to dispose of the debris that I clean up.

This area along a small creek was so thick you couldn't even see the creek. I cleared out all the underbrush, vines and many small trees and opened it up. Grass now grows here and it made a nice walking path for the owners.

I took all the debris that I cleaned from this area to the owner's burn pile where it was reduced to ashes. Again, I do not have any place to haul trees and brush off to, so there has to be a place on site to take and dispose of it.

My equipment:


For larger projects...clearing out overgrown areas - bush and small tree removal and open field trenches.


For small projects, especially in neighborhood yards.

 

There are companies that can very quickly clear up a section of land using a skidsteer and mulching head, which is fine if you never want grass to grow in that area because they'll be several inches of mulch on the ground. If you want grass to grow it has to be cleared of all ground debris, which is what I do using just the excavator.
